Un pequeño pero bien formado y situado hotel, en Santiago Piensas en Santiago de Compostela y seguramente lo primero que se te viene a la mente es la Catedral y el Camino, pero también hay que pensar en un sitio cómodo, céntrico y agradable donde quedarse en esta histórica ciudad. ¿Nuestra sugerencia? – el Costa Vella.
Este pequeño súper hotel está en la calle Porta de la Peña, una de las siete puertas que llevan al barrio viejo. La mayoría de los monumentos principales están a dos pasos de aquí, incluyendo la Catedral de Santiago, por lo que la situación es inmejorable. El hotel en si, clasificado como complejo histórico–artístico, hace justicia al lugar con la completa renovación llevada a cabo en 1999 que respetó la arquitectura tradicional a base de vidrio, y le añadió confort y algo de atractivo que los huéspedes sin duda notarán.
Otros puntos positivos son las habitaciones que, aunque no muy grandes, están perfectamente proporcionadas y combinan una decoración clásica y moderna que aprovecha al máximo el entorno Costa Vella. Los balcones, por ejemplo, hacen que la vista al jardín sea mucho más gratificante.
En resumen, todo está en su sitio y no hay nada fuera de lugar. Mención aparte merece el precioso jardín que se asoma a las murallas de la ciudad, cayendo hacia la sombra del convento. Un magnífico sitio donde disfrutar de un desayuno veraniego con delicias gallegas tales como pasteles almendrados y pan casero.
We stayed at Costa Vella for 2 nights on our driving trip through northern Spain. We were welcomed warmly and found that the staff were exceptionally helpful. The room was adequately sized, very clean and comfortable.
The hotel is conveniently situated within easy walking distance of good bars and restaurants, as well as all the key historical sites.
As others have said, the garden is delightful, and having breakfast there is quite special. In the evening, we enjoyed a few drinks there whist chatting to other guests.
Thank you to all the team at Costa Vella, and we do hope to return.

We've stayed at Costa Vella three times in the last 20 years. It's always a part of our Santiago adventures. Antonio and his sister Anna are super polite, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast is always a treat. And that's all I have to report.

Lovely accommodation and really close to the old town with its many bars and restaurants. Very friendly staff who went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and welcome! Would highly recommend for anyone staying in Santiago de compostello!

I found the hotel to be in great location by the centre of ciudad and with easy parking 200 metres away.
Very pleasant and helpful staff plus a great garden for taking breakfast ,coffee and food at anytime or just chilling out after wandering around the cathedral and nearby streets ,

Good location if you want to visit the old part of the town. The service is excellent and very relaxing to be in the garden and have a drink or a cup of coffee. The rooms are clean and comfortable in a nice country style

This is my second time staying at this wonderful establishment. The staff is amazing and I love the whole design, garden and comfortable setting that is offered when staying here.
Robert is incredible as well as Jose. Haviier? Was very helpful with my Camino injury.
I would only stay here. My friends stayed st the Parador and I said no... my secret place is costa Vella!

Es stimmte einfach alles. Freundlicher und reibungsloser Check-in und Check-out, die familiäre Atmosphäre, die liebevoll gestaltete Einrichtung, alles tadellos sauber. Die Mitarbeiter sind durchweg freundlich, verbindlich, zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und immer ansprechbar. Das Frühstück wird liebevoll zubereitet und mit einem Lächeln serviert. Man fühlt sich willkommen und zu Hause. Absolutes Highlight ist der zauberhafte Garten, eine wahre Oase der Ruhe inmitten des Trubels von Santiago. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Die Zimmer sind nicht klimatisiert. In meinem nach vorne gelegenen Zimmer war es relaitiv warm, und nachts war es draußen einfach zu laut, um das Fenster geöffnet zu lassen. Dennoch: 100 % Weiterempfehlung, ich komme gerne wieder!

A charming hotel in a very central location, ideal for exploring the old town of Santiago. The rooms whilst not huge, are spotlessly clean and have lots of character. The walled garden is the perfect hideaway and a great area for relaxing or having a spot of breakfast. I would recommend this hotel for its character, friendly staff and great location and hope to be back soon.

Das Hotel kann man nur als excellent bezeichnen. Das Zimmer wie auch das gesamte Haus sind super. Das Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Hier haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück ist ebenfalls sehr gut. Und von dem schönen Garten träumen wir heute noch.

We had 4 nights here after a journeying through Spain. I can't recommend it highly enough. It's in a fabulous location, a very pretty hotel, charming gardens. We had a room with a balcony and sitting area facing the garden (because the others were all fully booked!)not the biggest ever but superbly set out and arranged - loved the modern stylish furniture. The Sofa in the seating area was great. Loads of natural light in the room. All the staff were ace - welcoming, helpful, enthusiastic, recommended places to go. Our breakfasts had some of the best bread we had eaten in Spain - toasted of course. We will stay there again when we re visit Santiago de Compostella

We (4 pilgrims) stayed at the Costa Vella for 2 nights after walking the Camino. It was such a delight to stay there! We were made so welcome from the moment we arrived untll we left. The staff could not do enough to help and were so friendly and helpful.
Our rooms were very comfortable, breakfast was delicious and the hotel was so well situated near the Cathedral, easy to find and in a quiet location in such a busy city.
The shady garden was an additional bonus and we appreciated relaxing there after our long walk. We would love to return.

Comfortable standard room at front of historic hotel overlooking pedestrian street conveniently at edge of historic city. Lovely coffee shop and gardens to relax over coffee, wine or beer. Discounted car parking can be provided in adjacent underground municipal car park.

Sehr schönes zentral gelegenes Altstadthotel. Netter Empfang mit wertvollen Tipps zu Restaurants und Sehenswürdigkeiten und Unterbringung des Autos. Individuell gestaltete Zimmer mit neuen Bädern. Sehr sauber. Wundervoller romantischer Garten mit tollen Sitzecken und vielen Blumen.
Frühstück wird am Tisch serviert. Leider war es zu den Stosszeiten dort sehr voll und der Service war oft sehr schleppend weil die Bedienung auch noch die Gäste von ausserhalb im Garten bedienen musste.

We couldn't have been more delighted with our stay at Costa Vella. The service is fantastic, the rooms are lovely and the garden is gorgeous. It's in a great spot, walking distance to everything and they will have lots of tips for you when you get there. 5 stars from us.

Costa Vella was an ideal place to stay in Santiago de Compostela. The room was very comfortable, the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, and the gardens in the back and along the side were beautiful, restful -- even magical! -- places to enjoy a drink one afternoon and breakfast the next. The atmosphere of the street was really indicative of the pedestrian area of the city and quite picturesque along one edge of the property which was bordered by a side street. We relished our time here.

Wonderful friendly hotel in the old town, hard to get to by car. Beautiful garden, helpful staff. Parking is available nearby. Great breakfast, good restaurants nearby. The place to stay in Santiago de Compostela.

Both my wife and myself have stayed in 5* hotels all over Europe as part of our business life but never have we had such excellent service. Every member of staff always had a smile on their face and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were slightly small but well furnished with a comfortable bed and always spotless with fresh towels every day. Breakfast was continental but you could have as much as you liked with fresh toast, cheese, fruit exc. and all served at your table. This small hotel is an absolute gem and we shall certainly return. If all your hotels are up to this standard then you have just found two new customers.

The hotel is well positioned and is also in a very quiet location. Owners are attentive, breakfast is lovely and the garden setting is a nice bonus. The place is crisp and clean and no fuss.
