Casa Papagaio es un alojamiento a las afueras de Funchal, pero accede a la ciudad en pocos minutos de coche y tiene la comodidad de poder aparcar enfrente del mismo.
La casa principal tiene unos enormes ventanales que se asoman al Atlántico ofreciéndonos vistas sobre la capital y el inmenso mar.
El interior de la casa está decorado con gusto utilizando obras de arte y muebles portugueses. Destacan objetos artísticos y bordados de Madeira, así como cuberterías provenientes del Portugal continental. Unas reproducciones de Van Gogh y otros impresionistas aportan a Casa Papagaio un grato colorido y carácter. Luego está el jardín, con una abundante miscelánea de plantas y flores semitropicales. Unos escalones más abajo nos encontramos en una gran piscina a disposición de los huéspedes – un estupendo rincón para tomar el sol y tostarse un poco. Otra peculiaridad de la finca es la “levada” (camino artesanal) que atraviesa la propiedad y por la que podemos ir andando hasta Funchal o Câmara de Lobos.
El alojamiento tiene 7 cuartos todos con vista mar de buen tamaño, llenos de luz y aromas provenientes del jardín. Hay desde dobles , estudios y apartamentos (con cocina estos dos últimos), de decoración simples y contemporánea y la mayoría abiertos al exterior con tumbonas, mesa y sillas.
Filomena, la dueña, es una amante de los perros y gatos – dóciles y bien educados – pululan en libertad por el jardín. Notar que para aquellos que tenga alergia a animales domestico puede ser molesto.
En contrapartida, los huéspedes pueden traer sus propias mascotas.
Die Unterkunkft war für uns hervorragend. Es war sehr ruhig, was wir absolut genossen, in den letzten Tagen konnte man sogar das Rauschen des Meeres hören, wunderbar. Das Appartement bot alles, was man brauchte und man hatte von jedem Raum den Blick aufs Meer, fantastisch. Der Garten ist wunderschön, die gesamte Anlage ist sehr geschmackvoll angelegt. Die Lage war für uns super, nah bei Funchal, aber nicht mitten im Getümmel. Man konnte Silvester sogar zu Fuß nach Hause gehen. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück war für uns genau passend. Wir werden sicherlich noch einmal wiederkommen.

Really great stay here. Max, Anna-Maria and the rest of the staff were awesome.
Amazing dinner (just for 2!) on arrival arranged in advance as our flight was getting in late .
Lovely views and great furry company!
Was nice and set back from town which is what we wanted - would recommend a car for sure.
Overall just what we wanted! Thanks guys

Wonderful room in a beautiful garden with magnificent seaview! The breakfast is excellent. But the biggest surprise are the warm and lovely owners and there personel. You really feel immediately at home and very welcome.
Casa do Papagaio Verde is one of these special places you are always looking for!

We spent 7 Days on Casa Papagaio Verde. It is the perfect place to stay in Madeira to have a good time. It has a beautiful view from each of the 8 rooms to the sea. It is quiet, clean, with a nice garden and a swimming pool to refresh. The whole Area is cared with love and passion.
But the best at this B&B are the people! Filomena and her husband are absolutely lovely hosts. Ana-Maria has always good advice and a friendly word for the guests. All of the staff are friendly and lovely people.!
If it would be possible, I would give not 5 Stars but 100 of hearts. Thanks a lot for the excellent time in Casa Papagaio Verde!

We visited Madeira for the first time this November with my husband and stayed at Casa do Papagaio Verde for 4 days. The purpose of our visit was a combination of business and pleasure: we attended a conference at Funchal, while also celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary. Casa do Papagaio Verde is without doubt the best guesthouse that we ever stayed in: beautiful garden, fantastic views of the Atlantic, unforgettable homemade jams at breakfast and super comfy rooms... But the best feature of the guesthouse was its owners Mr and Mrs Babo, who made us feel at home right from the start. Filomena's knack for creating a serene and comfortable environment is visible throughout the house. Her attention to detail, and her friendly demeanor made us feel as if we found a long lost friend so far away from home. We would love to go back to Madeira, and would definitely stay there again!

Wir waren 2 Wochen im Papagaio Verde und es war toll! Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, hilfsbereites und nettes Personal. Bei unserer Ankunft (abends) wurden wir mit einem Glas Madeira Wein begrüßt und man hatte sogar für uns gekocht, falls wir keine Lust mehr hätten, nach Funchal runterzufahren! Sehr aufmerksam. Essen und Frühstück sind sehr gut.Upper Suite Apartment ist toll:groß, modern, sauber, Kitchenette mit 2-Platten-Herd, Mikrowelle, Kühlschrank, viel Geschirr; riesengroßer Balkon mit fantastischem Blick auf Funchal, sehr bequeme Betten. Kostenloses WLan im Zimmer und im Hauptgebäude. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Wir waren zwei Wochen im Hotel Casa Do Papagaio und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Gastgeber und Beschäftigten sind zauberhaft und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war gut und frisch. Wir waren 1x dort zum Dinner; es war empfehlenswert. Wenn wir nicht gewandert sind, konnten wir uns in aller Ruhe am Pool mit Blick auf das Meer entspannen. Jederzeit wieder!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Casa Papagaio eine Woche lang sehr genossen. Die kleine Anlage ist sehr gepflegt, das Personal sehr um die Gäste bemüht und man entkommt dem Trubel einer Großhotelerie. Am Abend nach ausgediegener Wanderung rundet die Erholung in Pool und Garten den Tag immer sehr schön ab. Mietwagen ist sehr empfehlenswert, dieser sollte jedoch wegen enger Zufahrt zum Grundstück nicht zu groß ausfallen. Sollte Madeira noch einmal unser Urlaubsziel sein, werden wir wieder hier anfragen,.

The gardens and settings of the Guest House are very beautiful and peaceful. Lovely pool and views. The staff throughout our stay were kind and helpful. A car is necessary to get to other places from here. We hadn't realised parking was on the street but we didn't have any problems with this. We stayed in a pool level studio room. The welcome pack could have been more generous. The studio was immaculately clean and the daily maid service was excellent. The facilities needed a little attention. Discoloured microwave and (very noisy) fridge made it look a little tired. There was very little storage for a week's stay...access to the only wardrobe was difficult. You could only open one door - the bed and side table prevented the other one from opening. Inside there was a small chest of drawers which were difficult to open. The desk in the room would be much better replaced with a large set of streamline drawers. The arm chair was also bulky for the space available. Positives - the bathroom and shower were lovely, the bed was comfortable and we slept really well there. We had everything we needed aside from good storage! I would go back there again. Not being able to pay for booking etc using a credit card was a complication but it was not a deal breaker. ..it took a while to get our confirmation through.

We were at the Papagayo Verde the end of April, for 5 nights and had a very pleasant stay.
This B&B just outside Funchal combines the facilities of the city with the quiet and the pleasures of a lush garden, with a nice view over the ocean.
Besides that the staff is very welcoming and friendly, the place is perfectly clean and the athmosphere really relaxing.
I can certainly recommend the Green Parrot!

Unser Aufenthalt war vom 02.10.2016 - 09.10.2016.
Hervorragender Gästeservice, sehr grüne Anlage, mega Ausblick, ruhig (wenn mal kein Hund bellt)
Wirklich ein schöner Ort für einen Urlaub.
Dennoch haben uns folgende Dinge, für eine 5* hervorragende Bewertung, gestört bzw gefehlt:
Wenn man in den späten Nachmittagstunden ein zwei Stunden auf einer Liege am Pool liegt - sind keine Auflagen vorhanden.
Keine Sitzauflagen auf den Stühlen vor den Zimmern.
Hundegebell von Nachbarshunden in der gesamten Abendzeit von 19:00 - 23:00 Uhr.
Wurstauswahl beim Frühstück sehr mau. Eine Wurstsorte und das 4 Tage lang.
Kleiderschrank roch muffig, Putz blätterte im Zimmer von den Wänden.
Dennoch würden wir das Hotel weiter empfehlen.
Das war eine wunderschöne Zeit!

Ich war mit meiner Freundin letztes Jahr zwei Wochen im Hotel Casa Papagaio und wir wollen wieder kommen :)
Das Hotel, das Zimmer und Personal hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Aus unserem Zimmer konnte man wunderbar das Ozean betrachten...
Das Früchstück war immer pünktlich da und hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt.
Die sehr freundliche Nyara hat uns bei der Buchungen von unterschiedlichen Rundreisen geholfen.
Also, kann ich das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen!!!
