The Pulitzer hotel is a really stylish, well furnished hotel, it is situated just around the corner of Plaza Catalunya - a good starting point to explore Barcelona. The regular room, where we stayed for 3 nights has enough space and a nice, spacious bath room - what can be rarely found in big cities hotels.
When arriving, the sink was blocked, we asked to take care of it, what has been done once only halfhearted, the front desk manager, was quite arrogant and did not believe we know how to handle with the sink...; (but there were also friendly staff memebers at the front desk when we were leaving). It did not work till we left - we would have expected the cleaning people to inform the house keeping at this price range of hotel.
The guests are all ages (some student groups from the US, young business people etc.) but a lot of people middle aged or more: the reason is probably that this is not a low budget house at all.
In all, we liked the hotel very much, but we do not understand the concept of the roof terrasse:
there is access for everyone - a party spot of the city, looks like a beach club and always overcrowded. When it rains, everybody goes down to the hotel bar - and it is so noisy in the middle of the night, that you cannot sleep anymore - all rooms go to the patio, where the hotel bar is.
We do not understand, why only hotel guests (and their guests) have access to the roof top
and this place seems to be creatd for youngsters, who like to party. Does not fit to the style, the
price level of the hotel.
Conclusion: a very stylish hotel, but you need to handle with the noise, meeting drunken people in the floors and in front of the hotel.
The staff: service needs to be improved: friendliness of front staff, service at hotel bar is not very attentive, service coud be improved in all.
