Quinta dos Peixes Falantes

Located on São Miguel, the largest island of the Azores archipelago, Quinta dos Peixes Falantes combines tradition with modern design. Enjoy the unspoiled nature, breathtaking views and the volcanic surroundings around the Quinta.
The buildings are unique architectural pieces of art. The architect, who also is the owner of the Quinta, blended many traditional Azorean styles and materials such as basalt walls, stone walls (“currais de vinha” in Portuguese), or the Micaelense style which is typical for the island of São Miguel.
You should not miss the opportunity of enjoying breakfast in the remodelled chapel that was originally built in the 18th century.
The name of the Quinta (Peixes Falantes = talking fish) is dedicated to an artwork inspired by the by the Sermon of Saint Anthony to the Fish by Padre António. This literary work is famous in Portugal and the uncle of the owners of the Quinta made a colourful set of paintings, which now decorate the rooms.
There are two studios with a capacity for up to three people and two houses for up to four people. Both types feature kitchenette, indoor and outdoor eating areas and access to the pool and garden. The Quinta is perfect for couples or families.
