Spirit of The Knights

Even in Rhodes, a tourist Mecca, so to speak, you can find hidden, secluded jewels and the Spirit of the Knights is a fantastic case in point.
Located in the beautiful old part of Rhodes (Medieval) this small, exclusive Eco Boutique hotel casts a magic ideal for a whole panoply of travellers. It is a place that manages to be romantic and family friendly at the same time.
The name also gives something away about its history. It was built originally for the Crusading Knights. Add to this the architectural changes during the Ottoman Empire and you have a super little mix of architectural sites worthy enough to be classified as a “Monument of Special Importance”.
This award surely also refers to the location, which is nestled comfortably on the highest point of town (those Knight Tempers knew a good spot when they saw one) and very near the Suleiman Mosque and a host of shops and restaurants – ideal to explore this lovely part of the island.
Spirit of the Knights is also a bit of repository of art, so to speak. It boasts pieces and works from Greece, Morocco, Turkey, Persia and the Far East. Carpets and kilims from Persia and Turkey and a wonderful mix of furniture, some hand carved, creates a stunning combination of historic building with modern amenities.Come to think of it, this isn’t so surprising. Felicity Marshall, the owner, is an artist in her own right.
Every room is pretty much unique whilst common areas are ample and full of light and airy and include a reception, ground floor WC, lounge, library area, bar, inner courtyard garden and external patio with water feature creating a wonderfully tranquil and spacious environment to relax in privacy.
