La Casa do Rio Vez es simplemente deliciosa – aunque no podríamos esperar menos de un molino de aceite del siglo XIX situado a la ribera del río Vez y con 5.000 m2 de jardines. Olivos, robles y céspedes abundan por doquier y aunque el hotel tiene una piscina muy mona, darse un chapuzón en el río con el entorno natural que lo rodea es una experiencia inolvidable.
En cuanto al alojamiento, y aunque fue construido en 1886, se llevó a cabo una renovación total en el 2004, añadiendo un generoso espacio contemporáneo muy adecuado a los históricos muros de granito del lugar. La casa principal, en forma de “L” y con dos niveles, es donde se encuentran las habitaciones, con el entresuelo y los salones magníficamente decorados en tonos modernos y confortables.
La Casa do Rio Vez rezuma naturaleza y aparte de la que nos rodea, recomendamos una visita al Parque Nacional Peneda-Geres a tan sólo diez minutos de distancia: algo que se nos quedará grabado en la memoria, en un ámbito que recuerda más a Suiza que a un país conocido por sus playas y clima templado. Aunque si precisamos de algo de civilización, estamos a 2 kms de Arco de Valdevez y un poco más lejos está una de las ciudades más representativas del norte de Portugal: Viana do Castelo – justo sobre el océano Atlántico.

A delightfully charming gem in the beautiful North of Portug

We are incredibly glad we chose Casa do Rio Vez for our 10 night stay in the area of Arcos de Valdevez / Ponte Barca. Our accommodation - we stayed in the self-contained studio - provided everything we could ever have wanted for a longer stay. Due to coolish weather in the beginning of our stay, we spent quite a bit of time "at home". With large, comfortable sofas, a well equipped kitchen and the beautifully homely feel the studio had, we just enjoyed a most relaxing time. Valérie, the host, would probably be one of the most friendly, attentive and caring hosts we have ever had the pleasure to stay with. The absolutely amazing breakfast, lovingly prepared every morning by Paula, a local lady, was beyond any expection. The choice of fruit in particular was incredible: one monrning, we counted ten different types of fruit on our breakfast platter. Cold cuts, cheese, hand-made jam, honey, butter, bread, bread rolls, pastry, joghurt - it was all there. To sum up our review in two sentences: Thank you for your warm welcome and the hospitality, Valérie, we immensely enjoyed staying at Casa do Rio Vez. We wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a personal, relaxing, quiet holiday away from maddening crowds - and chances are very good that we will be back one day!

The environment as well as the casa were absolutely fantastic... Nothing to ad. Better in reality than on the site. Valerie is a perfect host. We absolutely loved everythong there. Thank you Secret Places ;) !!

Eine verwunschene alte Mühle - modern und absolut geschmackvoll ausgebaut und gestaltet direkt am Fluss. Ein absoluter Traum! Swimmingpool und Badestelle am Fluss. Wunderschön! Sehr freundliche und immer hilfsbereite Gastgeberin. Sehr gutes Englisch. Tolles Frühstück liebevoll angerichtet mit viel frischem Obst. Lage nah am Nationalpark! Direkter Wanderweg am Fluss. Besser geht es nicht!!!

Tolle Lage (sehr ruhig) mit privater Lagune am Fluss Herrvorragendes, mit Liebe zubereitetes Frühstück Sehr nette und zuvorkommende Besitzer Familiäre Atmosphäre Gute Restaurants in der Umgebung Zimmerausstattung: modern und gemütlich insgesamt hat das Hotel unsere Erwartungen übertroffen, absolut perfekt!
