It’s all about equilibrium with the Casas de Pousadouro – modern decor goes hand in hand with architectural tradition, warm welcome with cool design, the mountains and the sea - balance of mind and body. Given its fantastic location it could hardly be anything else.
Firstly, it is nestled on the bank of the Douro River, overlooking the water, so that the four houses that make up the Casas de Pousadouro (see below) are a perfect setting for meditating, walking, reading a book or simply feeling the freshness of the water. A stay here really does add up to moments of peace and relaxation. Secondly, the four accommodations follow the same vein, managing to conciliate the soul of a small rural area, with high levels of comfort, discreet elegance and friendly atmosphere
A small description of the houses is as follows:
Casa Amarela (Yellow House): 3-6 people – 3 bedrooms + independent kitchenette (50sq metres);
Casa do Piloto (Pilots’s House) 3-6 people: 2 bedrooms + kitchenette (20 sq metres);
Casa da Ruínas (House of Ruins) Metaphorically speaking, of course: 2-4 people: 2 bedrooms + kitchenette (20 sq metres);
Casa da Rocha (Rock House) 2-4 people: 2 bedrooms + kitchenette (30 sq metres);
The Douro also happens to be one of the most stunning regions of Portugal and the Casas de Pousadouro makes a great base to discover it for yourself – at your own pace.
