This is the sister hotel of one of our favourite places in the region – the Castello di Fonterutoli. It is part of the same estate, belongs to the same owners, has the same character and charm, but there is one difference. The Castello di Fonterutoli consists of four historic apartments. The Mazzei, as its full name implies, is a bed & breakfast. Five luxuriously appointed rooms with the Fonterutoli hallmark.

It was restored to its former glory and opened to the public in 2008 and the atmosphere is of a genteel manor house - authentic and welcoming. The five rooms are all located in one of the estates historical houses which can be rented out as a whole if need be. Or, of course, you can just take the room. Views are of the countryside are delightful, especially from the upper bedroom with its own loggia.. We’ll end with a text from the Fonterutoli which we think applies just as well for the Bed & Breakfast. “Some people look for places that are fashionable or cutting edge so we’ll warn you straight away that this is not Fonterutoli. What you have here is a great place for the family – much of the village is closed to traffic and the four apartments share a swimming pool positioned on the edge of the village with to-die-for views down the valley across olive groves and fields of lavender in the late summer.”

Loggia The most luxurious room. Comes with its own independent terrace boasting vistas of the Chianti countryside beautiful landscape of the Tuscan hills. It wooden poster bed, air conditioning, stone fire-place, a small powder room and fantastic bathroom with shower and an marble oval tub.

Rosa Double bedroom. Comes with bathroom/shower, poster bed and a window overlooking the Chianti country.

Gialla Comes with its own entrance making it independent from the other apartments. Decorated with two poster beds, bathroom in a local stone with a wide bath a double basin. Air conditioning.

Arancio Double bedroom that can also be combined with a twin bedroom, linked together through a bathroom provided with bath and two basins. ideal for a family of 4. The orange colour walls. Air conditioning.
