Slow down time... It's slow food and slow life at the Borgo della Marmotta. But here's the rub, odds on you'll want to return to the Bongo della Marmotta pretty fast. Now there's a paradox.

This one of a kind accommodation has basically seen it all. It started off life in the 17th century and has been at various times a stable, granary and oil press, amongst other things.

After all it has gone through, it remains a remarkably well preserved and unspoilt hamlet. Indeed the recent restoration seems to have enhanced the original charm. By that we mean architectural details such as the square, stables, sheepfold, mill and granary have been brought back to life.

The atmosphere is all pervading with the touches of yesteryear such as the wooden beams, antiques and terracotta flooring. Old traditions proudly still exist and the farm continues to organically produce wine and olive oil. Yet, you can mix this with vanguard technology such as multimedia library, swimming pool and even a gym and sauna. You didn't get that in the 17^th century that's for sure.

As the Borgo dell Marmotta itself proudly states “Our aim is to create the perfect marriage between tradition and progress".

So, to cut a long story short, the Borgo della Marmotta is an ideal location for a getaway whether lasting a couple of days for a weekend break or longer stays. The choice is yours. Enjoy the idyllic views over Umbria, take breakfast under the pergola tree (weather permitting), just read a good book by the pool or enjoy a good sauna.

Cooking Class

The Borgo Marmotta is organizing cooking classes for small groups, from 4 to 20 persons. The classes will be hosted at Borgo in the ancient “ovile”. We offer tailor made courses that will be associated with other activities following the guests needs.
