No te nombran “uno de los 80 hoteles más extraordinarios del mundo” por una importante editorial (Hip Hotels), si no es por una buena razón – o varias. Y ésa fue la distinción otorgada a la Pousada Picinguaba, acompañada con epítetos tales como “idílico”, “impresionantemente bello”, “fuera de lo común” – y otros.
Este sitio es pura paz y tranquilidad y para enfatizarlo no encontramos ni televisores, ni teléfonos, ni internet en las habitaciones. La carretera local acaba en la playa y hay que andar 250 metros desde el hotel – escondido en el bosque – para llegar a ella.
La idea es comulgar con la naturaleza y los únicos sonidos son el viento agitando las palmeras y el mar acariciando la orilla.
Y con tan sólo 10 habitaciones disponibles (9 dobles y una fantástica suite nupcial con jacuzzi), las posibilidades de un vecino ruidoso son inexistentes. Las habitaciones están decoradas con sencillez y buen gusto y todas se abren a un entorno natural. Maravillosas vistas del mar y tres kilómetros de playa protegida. Exuberantes flores y plantas tropicales que forman cortinas protectoras con colibríes de huéspedes.

Wonderful place

What a wonderful place – beautiful scenery in the protected park. The staff here is very helpful and friendly. The food was amazing, fresh and tasty. Thanks for making our stay here so nice. Take care and hope to see you soon

The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly and the entire atmosphere is relaxed and special. We can't bear to leave such an amazing place, but don't worry we will definitely be back! This must be one of our most enjoyable holidays ever!

The pool is great, the other guests are lovely and friendly, we can't think of a single complaint! This hotel is pure perfection. Lots of love. PS- Did we mention the fantastic food?

Special compliment to the chef who makes the pastries and puddings – and the pain au chocolat in the morning! Delicious!!

Activities and things to do

The region around Picinguaba is one of the most beautiful, well preserved and less well-known parts of the whole Brazilian coast.

Whether you feel energetic or lazy, you will find everything you need in this extraordinarily rich natural environment which combines beaches, forests and mountains.

The Pousada organizes exclusively for its guests a wide range of outdoor activities which are a chance to discover the region and its friendly inhabitants: hiking in the tropical rainforest with our in-house guide, cruising on our schooner to explore local islands, visiting Paraty, hiking through the lost villages of the coastal stretch, scuba diving, etc.

During your stay, you will hardly meet any other tourists, you will be alone most of the time. You won’t need a car to get around, because there are enchanting places close to the village and the hotel, which you can go to on foot, by kayak or by boat.

Whatever your idea of an ideal holiday might be, waking up at dawn and going for a jog on a deserted beach or chilling out in a hammock in the company of birds, Picinguaba will help fulfill your desires.
