Insólito in Portuguese means “Unusual” and this Heavenly place certainly is – for all the right reasons. It is unusually beautiful, artistic and laid back – sophisticated laid back style by the water’s edge.
And when we say water’s edge, we mean by one of the most stunning beaches in Búzios, Ferradura.
Like a number of our special places in Brazil, there is a French connection here. Emanuelle Meeus de Clermont, a native of France fell in love with the beauty and culture of Brazil and in a way the Insólitos Boutique Hotel is her homage to the country.
Rooms are thematic and based on Brazilian culture, decorated with design objects and landscaping and illumination by Anouk Barcat and Maneco Quinderé. Here, Emanuelle’s wonderful taste is evident everywhere.
The rooms contain works of art and books about music, photography, literature, art, nature, history, architecture, fashion and black culture, displaying her cultural concern in the decor.
It's not just about art though. The Insólito also takes leisure and fun seriously, so to speak. It even has has two boats available for use by guests.
The Rush boat - 30 feet, can take up to 8 people and is great ideal for tours around the main beaches of Búzios. Guests can also partake in fishing or picnics.
Dragos – a smaller boat at 19 feet, can take up to 4 persons and is more for water-skiing, wakeboarding and “bóia-cross” which is a variation of water-skiing.
Insólito also has a sweet water swimming pool, a salt water pool, a dry sauna, a steam sauna, Jacuzzi and Ofurô.
Guests can also make the most of the three bikes available.

Búzios
Búzios is the St Tropez of Brazil made famous in the 1960's by Brigitte Bardot who was a regular visitor. She visited it for a reason - its beautiful. Located some 160km from Rio (and 529km from São Paulo), this 8km stretch of peninsula boasts some 23 beaches and is a magnet for an international jet-set sort of crowd.
Great for water sports such as sailing, kite surfing, yachting and free flight. The flora, which is very similar to the Atlantic forest, completes the scenery.
Some of the best beaches are: Geribá, Jõao Fernandes, Rasa, Manguinhos, Tartaruga, Azeda, Brava, Olho-de-Boi and Ferradura, where Insólito Boutique Hotel is located.
