Buzios is not known as the St Tropez South of America for nothing. Its sophisticated ambience and seaside beauty attracts the "in" crowd.

Some of the accommodations to be found here are simply fabulous, as one would expect, and the Casas Brancas Boutique Hotel & Spa is no exception.

The name says it all really, "boutique" style with a "spa" to match (though please note that using spa facilities is not included in the published rates).

We’d go so far to as to say it is a match for anything on offer in this beautiful region, which is, by the way, only some 2 hours drive from Rio de Janeiro.

It may only be 2 hours - but this still means a world away, for whilst Rio crackles with energy, Casas Brancas oozes relaxation. Indeed, that’s the raison d’etre - to provide an ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of city life but in a sophisticated and luxurious way.

Gentle hues of white and cream imbibe the place with a Zen like atmosphere from the public areas to the 32 individually decorated rooms. These range from the smaller Standard and Classics to the larger Superior and Deluxes which, as a rule come with Ocean View.

And what an ocean! The eyes immediately rest on the blue waters of Armação Bay where the colourful fishing boats float day and night.

Plus there are some 27 beaches from which to choose within the immediate vicinity.
